Ingredients
Three sticks butter
3/4 cup sugar
¾ cup of brown sugar
3 ¼ cups of flour
One egg
½ cup milk
½ cup warm water
One tablespoon yeast
One tablespoon of cinnamon
Instructions
- Pour warm water yeast and ¼ cup of sugar in a large bowl. Let sit for four minutes.
- Place egg and a stick of butter in a bowl and microwave for sixteen seconds.
- Put the ½ cup of milk in a pan and heat until warm. Do not boil.
- Put egg, stick of butter, milk, and two cups of flour into the bowl. Mix on medium speed for one minute.
- Add another cup of flour ½ cup and mix with your hand. Fold the dough over on its self. The dough will be sticky. Add flour a little a at a time while continuing for fold over on itself (kneading) . Add flour until the dough is no longer sticky, but do NOT allow the dough to become dry.
- Now comes the work. The dough must be kneaded for at least five minutes. You will notice the dough changing consistency as you knead it.
- After kneading form into a ball, place into the bowl, and microwave for eight seconds. Wait sixteen mintes and microwave for another 8 seconds.
- Wait sixteen minutes and repeat step 7. Leave the dough in the microwave. Wait sixteen more.
- Remove the dough from the microwave and from the bowl and place it on a flat surface. If the dough is sticky, coat the flat surface and the rolling pin with a fine layer of flour.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle that is sixteen inches wide and twenty four inches long.
- Now take a second stick of butter and microwave for eight seconds.
- Coat the dough with ½ of the stick of butter.
- Now sprinkle ½ cups of sugar onto the dough. Spread evenly.
- Next comes the cinnamon. Season to taste. Be careful not to put on too much.
- Now comes the tricky part. You must roll the dough into a log. Start folding the dough on the edge closest to you, and slowly roll it into a log. Now pinch the ends of the dough onto the log, so the rolls will not unravel.
- Now cut the dough in half. Then cut each half in half and then cut each of the pieces into three evenly sized cinnamon rolls.
- Get out a 13×9 inch Pyrex baking pan. Spray the pan lightly with cooking spray or grease with butter.
- Place the cinnamon rolls into the pan. You want four rows of three.
- Turn the oven on to 375 degrees and place the cinnamon rolls onto of the oven. Wait sixteen minuets and set the pan to the side (but still near the warmth of the oven).
- Take the remain 1 and ½ sticks of butter and place in a saucepan.
- Add the ¾ cups of brown sugar into the pan. Turn on medium heat and stir frequently until it reaches a low boil.
- Remove from heat and use a spoon to cover the cinnamon rolls. Place an even amount on each roll.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for thirty minutes.
- After thirty minutes remove them from the oven and place them on the stove.
- Let them cool for thirty minutes. Use a sharp knife to cut them apart.
- Then using a spatula take them out one at a time and place them on a flat surface top side down.
- Eat one. Allow them to cool for about an hour, and them put them into a large plastic bag and freeze them.
To serve place one on a small plate, cover the top with butter and microwave for thirty two seconds
